Figure/Ground Promotional Poster (March 3, 2008)
The assignment here was to choose a subject and an appropriate font, and design a promotional or informational poster using a single letter as the dominant design element. The idea was to work in some figure/ground confusion with the primary initial.
I got good feedback on this, and I think it's OK; but there were a few in the class that looked like they were plucked right out of magazines or billboards! Mine is somewhat amateurish; but it works, I suppose.
I chose epilepsy for two reasons: first, because of Em's experiences with seizures; and second, because it's both her and my first initial.
