Emily Update #5
My favorite foods: Tomatoes. Red peppers. Pork, especially with a nice sour marinade. Apples. Broccoli. Corn.
My favorite toys: My kitty. Elmo! My froggy blanket. Elmo! My red scarf that Grandmommy gave me. Elmo!
My favorite books: Doggies. Happy Baby Colors. Goodnight Moon. Dr. Seuss’ A B C. There’s a Wocket In My Pocket. The Very Busy Spider.
My favorite games: Coloring. Running down Daddy’s sawdust pile - wheeee! Trying to pick up the kittes. Standing on rocks and being tall.
This week I: Threw two tantrums because Mommy wouldn’t let me play with her books. Did more hugging. Started to sing.
Mommy statement: She’s probably been singing for a while, actually; but so far it’s pretty tuneless, so it’s not so far-fetched that we missed it. She’s more likely to be singing something she heard at day care than something I sing to her; so it might be a while before we figure out what song it is.
The tantrums have been interesting. Kind of adorable, really, which is going to annoy her when she’s older! Nothing to do when she has one except wait her out. She winds herself up pretty good; but she’s such a cuddly girl she doesn’t want to stay away stomping her feet for all that long.
She is, after all, almost 2; so these Wagnerian expressions of dissatisfaction are to be expected!
